Position Overview

Gurnell Harrison Stanley Law (GHS) is a law firm focused on Property and Commercial Law. We also have a strong base of general legal work. We have a busy established legal practice and we need some help!

That’s where you come in. We are looking for a NZ qualified solicitor with 1 - 3+ years’ experience to support our Directors, our team, and our clients.

This is a full-time role with plenty of responsibility. In return you’ll have competitive salary, carpark, a great team, autonomy and flexibility.

We are a 3 Director firm based in Hamilton with a national client base. We have a team of 6 staff who help us serve our clients. Our 3 Directors have each paid dues at large law firms and now enjoy the rewards of smaller practice.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Solicitor
    Support the Directors move work out of their office
    Work productively, track and reach your KPI’s
    Be available for our Legal Executives to assist with property transactions
    Complete client work, set and meet client expectations
    Manage your email and your files in a tidy organised manner

Requirements:

  • 1 - 3+ years of recent, full-time legal work in private practice
  • Experience working in one or more of the following areas of law [Property, Commercial Law, Relationship Property, Employment, Estates]
  • Familiar with or quick to learn new technology applications
  • Get along with the team and contribute to a happy team culture
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with clients and our team
  • Able to foster existing client relationships
