Lawyer - Maori Legal – Market Leading Salary ($75,000 minimum plus Kiwisaver) and flexible working options/benefits
We are looking for a solicitor to join our busy, friendly Maori Legal Team at Rainey Collins.In the business for over 100 years, our well-respected firm assists clients throughout New Zealand and overseas. We have always moved with the times; offering modern, attractive, offices in the CBD, flexible working to suit all team members’ circumstances, and a family-focused work environment.We are looking for a lawyer with at least 2 years’ PQE in Waitangi Tribunal work and preferably Legal Aid lead provider status to work primarily in our Maori Legal Team. We are looking for an applicant with strong verbal and written skills, an excellent academic record, and a focus on delivering clients a high level of service. Work includes:
• Considering evidence and drafting legal documents;• Drafting and presenting legal submissions;• Briefing and leading witnesses;• Appearing before the Waitangi Tribunal;• Working with government agencies; and• Some general litigation and commercial work.We are committed to very high standards of service to our clients and a balanced lifestyle for all who work with us.
