Position overview

Massey University's Legal Services team provides specialist legal knowledge for research and non-research related matters. The team creates and reviews Research and Consultancy Agreements, Intellectual Property Agreements and Non-disclosure Agreements, we also provide advice on contract law, and intellectual property law and associated policies related to research and have strong organisational reach, providing advice to all Massey business units, so the subject matter for contracting is diverse and interesting.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and team-focused lawyer who can bring expertise and initiative to the Legal Services team.

You will join an existing outstanding team of three and each day you will contribute to a culture of excellence and research success and be the bridge between researches and funders, translating the contracting needs of both for the success of Massey University. Once core knowledge has been developed, there will be an opportunity to broaden your expertise, working within our broader portfolio of academic legal advice and support for the International Relations Office, Procurement Team, and with the Office of Governance and Assurance.

Ideally you will be based at our Manawatū campus however we are looking for the right person to join our team so location is flexible and we will consider accommodating the right candidate at either our Auckland or Wellington campuses. Remuneration will be reflective of skills and experience.
