For almost 150 years, Crown Law has provided independent legal advice and representation to successive governments, giving New Zealanders trust and confidence that decisions made by government are lawful. Our Crown Legal Risk Group provides expertise on powers and functions of government, judicial review of executive action, legislative and parliamentary processes, conduct of large-scale civil litigation, statutory appeals, common law claims against the Crown, and government-led inquiries.
Recognising that these areas of advice extend beyond the boundaries of individual teams, the teams in the Group collaborate closely with each other, with other teams at Crown Law, and with colleagues in other departments.

We are looking for experienced legal professionals to lead one of our Public Law teams as Legal Team Manager, playing a key integrating role in our wider group to deliver a collaborative service. All legal teams work on a range of public law issues.
