The New Zealand Law Society | Te Kāhui Ture o Aotearoa is the professional body for barristers and solicitors in New Zealand. The Law Society regulates all lawyers practising in New Zealand and is the membership organisation for practising lawyers. With 13 branch offices throughout the country, the Law Society is the Kaitiaki (guardian) of the practise of law in Aotearoa New Zealand and the consumers of legal services.
We are seeking a motivated and friendly person to join our Member Services department, to work in our Auckland Library. The work involves document supply, desk duties, data entry for LINX and various other library assistant level tasks.
You’ll be working with a collegial, supportive team of Librarians, Legal Researchers and Library Assistants to provide information services to the New Zealand legal profession. Our Library has an extensive collection (print & electronic) provides research and document delivery services and publishes the LINX database, an index to the New Zealand legal materials.
If you take pride in your work, pay careful attention to detail, are flexible and enjoy a challenge, you may be the person we are looking for.
Excellent customer service and communication skills, computer literacy, time management skills and the ability to work as part of a team are essential.
A tertiary qualification is preferred. Experience working in a law library, or legal knowledge and a library/legal qualification or studying towards one, is an advantage.
