Litigation Solicitor 2 – 6 years PQE

An opportunity has arisen in one of New Zealand’s leading litigation teams. The role is somewhat unique due to the level of quality Court time, working on some of the most exciting cases. For this reason, we are seeking applicants who consider themselves to be a rising star in the profession. In return, we are offering a package that will be market leading.

The role is with Holland Beckett Law, which is New Zealand’s largest provincial law firm. The role is based in our Tauranga office. You would be part of an expert litigation practice, with over 30 litigators who are driven but team-focused. The role would involve a diverse range of litigation work, such as civil, commercial, criminal, public law/regulatory, sport, trust, estates, and insolvency disputes. Within this wide range of challenging work, we litigate in all court and tribunal levels, as well as mediated and arbitral processes. You will gain both client facing and court experience for top tier clients. There would also be the opportunity to travel around New Zealand, as we litigate around the country.  

As part of a progressive and growing firm, the successful candidate would receive ongoing training and professional development, with the opportunity to progress within the firm. 

Ideally, candidates would have:

  • High academic achievements, ideally an Honours degree or LLM;
  • 2 to 6 years PQE litigation experience from a national firm or as judges clerk;
  • A strong work ethic;
  • An ability to analyse and advise on complex legal issues but find practical and cost effective solutions;
  • Excellent communication, written and technical skills; and
  • Sound people skills, both with clients and colleagues.
