The New Zealand Law Society | Te Kāhui Ture o Aotearoa is the professional body for barristers and solicitors in New Zealand. The Law Society regulates all lawyers practising in New Zealand and is the membership organisation for practising lawyers. With 13 branch offices throughout the country, the Law Society is the Kaitiaki (guardian) of the practise of law in Aotearoa New Zealand and the consumers of legal services.

About the role

We are seeking an exceptional candidate to join our Member Services (Representative) Department to assist our more than 6,500 Auckland Branch members.

You will be working with the Auckland Branch Manager, based in our Auckland office, and the wider Representative members’ services team to market and promote Law Society services and events to the Auckland membership. The successful candidate will bring marketing and event skills and expertise, attention to detail, a sound understanding and experience of using relevant technology, and an ability to relate well to lawyers, the public and the wider legal community. Ideally, they will have experience working with the legal profession.

This is a full-time role which will require attendance at branch events outside of regular office hours.

The ideal applicant will have:

  • Marketing and event management experience
  • Experience and enjoy participating in learning, social and networking events
  • An understanding of the technology and systems that underpin successful events
  • Experience working with Mail Chimp, or similar software tools, databases, and with running webinar events
  • Good communications skills and attention to detail
  • Experience working with the legal profession.
