Are you looking for an opportunity to use your legal skills in a dynamic environment? Our legal team is growing and this newly-created permanent role may be just what you're after.
Based in Richmond you'll assist our Legal & Democracy Services Manager to provide high-quality legal support and advice across all aspects of Tasman District Council's business activities.

As a qualified and experienced lawyer, you will be a pragmatic problem-solver, bringing strong interpersonal skills and possessing a collaborative approach to working relationships both internally and with external legal providers to ensure the best outcomes are met for Council.

The role is diverse and interesting and you'll be expected to provide solution-focused advice on a broad range of topics including local government law, public and administrative law, dispute resolution and litigation, and a whole host of other challenging issues that fall within Council's functions.

We especially want to hear from applicants with experience in commercial, property contracts and procurement, and having experience in a local or central government will be advantageous but not essential. You must also be eligible to hold a practising certificate.
