What will the role involve?

This is a new role that has been created to build and manage our actions, obligations and responses to meet our regulatory objectives and compliance, with a focus on the new fibre telecommunications regulatory framework, statutory compliance, and related codes.

The Regulatory Specialist will be responsible for:

  • working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
  • assisting and reporting on all-of-business education, awareness, and compliance with regulatory obligations to align with our Risk Appetite and Tolerance Statement
  • end-to-end ownership of regulatory compliance tasks and actions.

The Regulatory Specialist will also be involved in building and managing a regulatory strategy and our internal regulatory management and compliance function (including regulatory standards, processes, templates, and guidance) to support the business as it moves into a new regulatory framework in 2022.

What will you need to bring with you?

  • Ideally five or more years' experience working in policy, law and/or regulatory affairs
  • Advanced regulatory interpretation and comprehension skills
  • Exceptional business writing skills
  • Operational and/or acquisition project experience
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships and people management skills
  • Excellent communication and engagement skills
  • A proven ability to deliver results within tight deadlines
