New Zealand Law Society - Senior Associate - Levin

Senior Associate - Levin

  • Leadership role with partnership prospects
  • Large loyal customer base and great culture

We have an exciting opportunity to join a leading generalist firm, known for their exceptional legal services, large, loyal customer base and great culture.

This is a rare opening for an experienced senior solicitor (or two) to take on a leadership role, over a small group of recently qualified solicitors and vastly experienced legal executives. The firm is currently processing most of the residential conveyancing in the Levin area. With two pending retirements, this is a unique opportunity for a senior lawyer looking for the next step towards imminent partnership.

For over 100 years this firm has been primarily providing conveyancing services and general legal services as would be expected in a provincial town. The Horowhenua region is presently undergoing rapid growth with affordable housing making it a highly desirable place to invest and settle, and within commuting distance to Wellington. The firm has achieved success through a relationship focussed approach to their work.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • minimum 10 years PQE,
  • strong experience in dealing with property, land development, subdivision work, drafting contracts, leasing, financing, and rural law,
  • common sense and a motivated self-starter with proven ability to use initiative,
  • excellent, proven client and file management skills,
  • experience in providing support to junior lawyers,
  • management experience will be highly valued, and
  • intelligence and strong organisational ability, with excellent business development skills.

You will receive:

  • an attractive salary with early partnership prospects,
  • more control over your work,
  • a firm which is about your wellbeing and success,
  • an enthusiastic, welcoming team who enjoy being there,
  • a large range of clients and interesting, sometimes novel work,
  • highly experienced and capable legal executives and support staff,
  • an ability to be self- accountable and set your own goals,
  • exposure to a wealth of knowledge and skill amongst your colleagues.

If you are looking for the next step in your career and wanting to assume leadership in a firm where you feel valued and enjoy your day-to-day environment – this is the role for you!
