The Solicitor-General invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Senior Crown Counsel in the Crown Law Office in Rarotonga.
The Crown Law Office provides legal services to the government, including the King’s Representative, Cabinet, the Prime Minister, Ministers, and other government entities and statutory bodies.
Working in the Crown Law Office provides a unique opportunity to practice in a friendly and supportive environment across a diverse range of practice areas, including legislative drafting, commercial and contract law, litigation, criminal prosecutions, international law and public law.
The Senior Crown Counsel position requires 8+-years’ experience in providing legal advice in any of: public, commercial, civil, criminal or regulatory matters, as well as conducting litigation (civil and/or criminal). Experience in public and administrative law and/or civil litigation would be particularly advantageous.
Senior Crown Counsel will also be required to assist with the legislative drafting programme, as well as the mentoring and supervision of junior and intermediate staff.
Remuneration will be competitive and commensurate with experience and job fit.
