We are looking for someone that can provide pragmatic legal advice encompassing a wide range of issues covering contracts, ethics, intellectual property, privacy, governance and dispute resolution. While you will be primarily concerned with the legalities of a matter, your actual role is broader. You will be seen as a trusted advisor, influencing our direction and approach. The exact role that you will play will depend on your ability to develop and foster relationships within our wider community. We need an individual who can hit the ground running. You should have experience advising on, drafting and negotiating contractual documentation. You will also be interested in developing knowledge of the tertiary sector and the broader research ecosystem. This will enable you to contribute meaningful strategies and tactics.

This role would be ideal for someone with an LLB Bachelor's Degree, a current practising certificate (or the ability to hold one) and at least one to six years experience practising as a lawyer.

Ideally you will be based at our Palmerston North campus working alongside our Team Leader Legal Services. Working from our Wellington or Auckland campuses may be negotiated for the right candidate. This is a busy interesting role where you will have the opportunity to use your legal skills to support our research and enterprise activities.
