The Solicitor-General invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Senior Policy Officer / Counsel (where appropriate) in the Crown Law Office in Rarotonga.

The Crown Law Office provides legal services to the government, including the King’s Representative, Cabinet, the Prime Minister, Ministers, and other government entities and statutory bodies.

This position is ideally suited to a person with government experience in policy work, particularly in the formulation, drafting, development, implementation, and monitoring of fit-for-purpose policy and governance documents.

It would be an added advantage if applicants have familiarity with how the Cook Islands Government operates and/or a law degree.

This position is primarily a policy position but, for legally qualified applicants, there is potential scope for this position to be a hybrid position. In such a situation, the successful candidate could take on appropriately job-sized roles as Counsel.

Remuneration will be competitive and commensurate with experience and job fit.
