About the role

Our client has an exciting opportunity for a lawyer to join their high performing employment specialist practice. Led by a Partner renowned for the quality of their work and exceptional client service, this role will quickly become an integral part of the dedicated team.

You will provide high quality employment law advice and services. The scope of the role covers all aspects of employment law, including advocacy, personal grievances and dispute resolution, restructuring and redundancy, employment agreements, performance management, health and safety advice and employment related legislation.

You will receive quality training, great variety and the opportunity to build high functioning client relationships. You will become a trusted advisor to your clients. You will develop your commercial nous as you offer pragmatic, solutions focused advice to your clients and while you are doing this, you will also enjoy working in a firm that is repeatedly recognised as an Employer of Choice.

This role is based in Auckland with some intermittent travel to Christchurch.

What we’re looking for

• A good quality LLB and current New Zealand legal practicing certificate
• At least 4 years’ high quality employment law experience with 5-6 years being ideal
• Strong drafting and advocacy skills
• Familiar with health and safety legislation is advantageous but is not essential
• The ability to work autonomously
• Excellent communication skills and willingness to learn
