The Companies Office has announced that it is changing the way to confirm authority to manage client information on the Companies Register. The changes will be effective from 5 September 2019.

The Companies Office is introducing a new director identification service which will allow direct access to manage company information by providing a New Zealand driver licence or passport. The key difference is that now you’ll be asked to provide details for one of the company directors.

The registrar approval service is also being adjusted. A new form Letter of Authorisation requires a director’s signature to confirm that you have delegated authority to act as an agent.

The person requesting confirmation will also have to provide identification.
