What it's like to work here

Working at the Law Society is an opportunity to make a real difference to the legal profession. As the Kaitiaki for the Law, we regulate over 16,000 lawyers and legal professionals in Aotearoa and are proud of our reputation for making impartial, considered, and valued contributions to law reform, the administration of justice and the rule of law.

We work for the benefit of the profession by offering wellbeing and mental health support to the profession and our members.

We work to provide Lawyers access to a range of membership benefits including professional development, networking events and support. This includes Lawyers who choose to be members of one of the Law Society’s three specialist representative groups, called Sections, which represent property law, family law, and in-house lawyers.

At the Law Society, you can be your true and authentic self. We are an organisation who hold diverse perspectives and welcome everyone, whatever your walk of life. We value the range of solutions and opinions that are held by our team and celebrate the individualism of our people. We work together to ensure a supportive and safe workplace culture where our people feel valued.

We understand that development of our staff and culture is an ongoing evolution. We base our development on our values of communication, teamwork, relationships, quality, and integrity.
