We’re working to modernise the New Zealand Law Society | Te Kāhui Ture o Aotearoa to not only make us fit-for-now but fit-for-the-future. That means seeking feedback and listening to all lawyers. We’ve emailed you a short survey so you can tell us what you think, including how we can best deliver services to the profession.
Law Society President Jacque Lethbridge says “A new addition this year is that the survey will also establish measures for some of the Law Society’s regulatory services that can be monitored and tracked over time.
“The Law Society will also be asking lawyers about flexible and hybrid work. In the 2019 Lawyers Survey 78% agreed that the risk of burnout was very high. A third of respondents said workload issues were a key challenge. Three years on we want to know if this is still the issue.
“If not, what else is causing you concern?
“The survey was not conducted in 2020 and 2021, so this survey will monitor changes since 2019 – a significant period of change due to Covid-19.
“As we outlined in our Annual Report, the Law Society is working to modernise and transform. Listening to and responding to feedback from the legal profession is an important part of that process, so we encourage all lawyers to complete this survey and have your say. “
An invitation to participate in the survey was emailed to all lawyers on Wednesday 18 May.
All completed surveys received by Wednesday 8 June will be entered into the draw to receive either an Apple iPhone 13 or a Samsung Galaxy S22. The survey is short and will only take 10 minutes to complete.
