Last week, we launched the New Zealand Law Society | Te Kāhui Ture o Aotearoa National Mentoring Programme.

The programme aims to provide professional support and guidance to lawyers as we all navigate fast-paced changes.

A week after launch 172 people have joined the programme with dozens more showing their interest.

This shows just how much this type of programme is valued by lawyers at all stages of their careers, wherever they are, and whatever their area of practice.

An email to all lawyers was sent by the Law Society President, Tiana Epati, on 14 May, which included a link to the mentoring match up software platform, Mentorloop. If you did not receive this email, contact us at mentoring@lawsociety.og.nz

Mentoring is an informal and voluntary way of networking and learning; your own personal professional sounding board where you and your mentor, or mentee, get to shape the agenda and choose what is important to you both.

At some point, many of us have sought guidance either to help find new ways of looking at things or to provide direction on career issues. Whether you are looking for support, or want to give back, our national programme provides the perfect opportunity wherever you are in New Zealand.
