The Minister for Social Development, Carmel Sepuloni, has reappointed Wellington barrister Jo Hughson as the Chairperson of the Social Workers Complaints and Disciplinary Tribunal for a further two year term, effective from 9 June 2020.

Jo is a member of Pipitea Chambers in Wellington. Her specialist areas of practice include professional discipline including health practitioner discipline, independent investigations and inquiries including employment investigations, and civil dispute resolution.

Jo is also a Chair of the Judicial Committee of the Veterinary Council of New Zealand and a Deputy Chair of the New Zealand Teaching Council Disciplinary Tribunal.
