Managing Abusive and Threatening Behaviour workshops

The Ministry of Justice is providing free situational awareness and de-escalation training for court lawyers that will focus on managing abusive and threatening behaviour.

The training covers helpful hands-on training and tips from experts in situational safety. We encourage all family and criminal lawyers to consider attending. We have confirmed initial dates for the following regions:

  • Nelson
  • Waitākere
  • North Shore
  • Auckland
  • Invercargill
  • Porirua
  • Hutt Valley
  • Wellington
  • Manukau

To find out when and where the training will be available near you click here.

Each training session is limited to 15 attendees but we encourage members who are interested in attending to register as a wait list will indicate the demand for training in each region so we can ask the Ministry to offer future sessions.

Dates for training in the following regions will be confirmed in the near future: Whangarei, Kaikohe, Kaitaia, Tauranga, Ashburton, Timaru, Blenheim, Hamilton, Rotorua, Palmerston North, New Plymouth, Christchurch, Oamaru, Alexandra, Queenstown, Dunedin, West Coast, Whanganui, Hastings and Gisborne.
