Auckland lawyer Gurbrinder Aulakh has been awarded the Indian Newslink Special Award for distinguished legal and social services to communities at the 12th annual Indian Business Awards.

The awards presentation ceremony was held in Auckland on 25 November 2019.

Mr Aulakh is a litigation lawyer. He was admitted in March 2012 and is a sole practitioner. He has successfully represented clients in judicial review matters at the High Court, acted in insolvency and liquidation matters. He has represented clients on Family and Relationship Property matters. Mr Aulakh has also defended clients in criminal matters at the District Court and the High Court and defended Immigration advisors before the disciplinary tribunal.

The award was a recognition of distinguished legal services, including pro-bono advocacy and social services to the wider communities.
