The changes allow for the administrative triaging of complaints by the LCS. The LCS may now decide whether to take no further action on a complaint if one or more of the criteria defined in the legislation apply.
If the LCS does not consider that any of these grounds apply, the LCS must refer the complaint to a Standards Committee for consideration. Guidance on the grounds under which the LCS can decide to take no action on a complaint are now available, with FAQs about the introduction of administrative triaging.
