Bianka Griffiths (née Lee) and Abbie Featherstone join Ngā Ratonga Ture/ Auckland Council Legal Services

Ngā Ratonga Ture/Legal Services at Auckland Council are delighted to welcome Bianka Griffiths (née Lee) and Abbie Featherstone to the property team as Legal Counsel and Senior Legal Counsel respectively.

Bianka returned to Te Kaunihera o Tāmaki Makaurau | Auckland Council in late 2022, after practising privately, and was delighted to be appointed as Legal Counsel for the Property team on 26 February 2024. Bianka studied at the University of Newcastle, was admitted to the Bar in 2017 and has worked in both private practice and for local government with a specialist focus in Reserves Act matters.

Abbie has more than 10 years' experience in property law and, up until now, has built her career in private practice. Abbie is looking forward to working alongside the team to provide practical and in-depth advice on matters that affect Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland.

Ngā Ratonga Ture | Legal Services is an in-house legal team with over 50 lawyers and legal executives supporting the largest local authority in the Southern Hemisphere.  The challenges and opportunities in the transactional property and land advisory areas are significant. On any day, the property team works on projects touching on Tāmaki Makaurau’s waterfront, regional parks, community facilities, co-management with iwi, film studios, major events, marae developments, commercial and residential developments, as well as climate adaptation, mitigation and response work.
