Canadian women lawyers podcast targets sexual harrassment and assault in workplace

The Canadian Bar Association National Women Lawyers Forum has released a podcast, Not Just a Bystander, which features lawyers, psychologists and others considering sexual harassment and sexual assault in the workplace.

The podcast calls on women in the workplace to move away from the sidelines and start taking action.

The Forum began a Write Your Wrong campaign, in 2015, asking Canadian lawyers to tell their stories. These were the inspiration for Not Just a Bystander.

In the podcast, lawyers, psychologists and others discuss the following questions:

  • Why do sexual assault and sexual harassment happen in the first place?
  • What do sexual assault and sexual harassment mean, legally?
  • What can we - as lawyers, clients, and as a community - do to fix this problem?
