The Chief Justice, Dame Helen Winkelmann (centre), presided at a special sitting of the High Court in Christchurch on 5 September 2019.
The special sitting was held to commemorate 150 years since the New Zealand Law Society was formed, on 3 September 1869 with passage of the New Zealand Law Society's Act 1869.
