The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) is undertaking a survey to better understand copyright use among participants in the creative sector.

The survey is part of an MBIE study of the creative sector and how it interacts with the copyright and designs regimes. The objective is a report which looks at how the copyright and designs regimes are used by the various creative industry subsectors in a changing technological landscape.

The survey is open to copyright holders, copyright licensees and copyright contributors who work in the creative sector.

It explores areas such as general awareness of copyright, the different ways that people use their copyrighted works, and people's experiences with protecting their copyrighted works. It was released on 8 August and closes on 19 August 2016.
