District Court Judge Heemi Taumaunu has been appointed Deputy Judge Advocate General and Deputy Chief Judge of the Court Martial.

His appointment, announced in the New Zealand Gazette, is effective from 5 February 2018.

Judge Taumaunu was appointed to the District Court bench on 15 January 2004. He was admitted as a barrister and solicitor in 1993 and practised in Gisborne until his judicial appointment.
