Few legal aid provider applications rejected

Ten lawyers had their applications for approval to provide legal aid services rejected in the year to 30 June 2016, according to Associate Minister of Justice Simon Bridges.

Information provided by Mr Bridges in response to questions from Green MP David Clendon shows this was down on 13 rejected applications in the previous year.

The information supplements information showing a decline in legal aid providers over the last five years provided by Mr Bridges in response to other questions from Mr Clendon.
