The Government has released its Response to Report of the Regulations Review Committee on the Inquiry into Parliament's legislative response to future national emergencies.

The committee made 11 recommendations to strengthen Parliament's legislative response to national emergencies.

The Government response says it generally agrees with the recommended in the report, but notes the ability to respond flexibly and appropriately to each national emergency must be retained.
