Growing together with Te Hunga Rōia Māori o Aotearoa

We’re proud to be building on six years of partnership with Te Hunga Rōia Māori o Aotearoa with the renewal of our Memorandum of Understanding marking the next chapter in how we work together for the profession. And there’s already plenty to build on!

Over the past six years, we’ve worked together to strengthen the profession through law reform, advocacy and legal education. Highlights include the 2024 Treaty Principles Seminar and the ongoing CLE programme that grew from its success. We're delighted to continue this important work through our renewed MoU.

New Zealand Law Society Te Kāhui Ture o Aotearoa and Te Hunga Rōia Māori o Aotearoa Memorandum of Understanding signing

At the heart of our partnership are people, relationships and a shared commitment to a stronger profession. We want to create more opportunities to share knowledge and expertise, build professional capability, strengthen our connections with Māori lawyers and communities, and work together on law reform and policy where our interests align.

We know that bringing different perspectives, experiences and expertise together make us stronger. This renewed agreement will help us find new opportunities to collaborate where we can make a meaningful difference for lawyers, the profession and the communities we serve.
