An important aspect of the Law Society’s role is to increase diversity, belonging and inclusiveness in the legal community. As part of this mahi, the Law Society is committed to working with Te Hunga Rōia Māori o Aotearoa and the Pacific Lawyers Association to support lawyers wishing to explore the support, services and representation these organisations offer.
During the Practising Certificate renewals period, lawyers who choose to identify as Māori or Pasifika will be offered the option of providing consent for the Law Society to share their contact details with Te Hunga Rōia Māori and the Pacific Lawyers Association. Once the Law Society has done so, any ongoing communication will be directly between the lawyer and the organisation.
Please contact us at any time at the Law Society’s Registry Team if you have any questions about the sharing of information.
