A Ministry of Justice advertisement seeks expressions of interest from people who would like to be considered for appointment as a Judge of the Employment Court in Auckland.

To qualify for appointed to the Employment Court, the candidate must have held a practising certificate as a barrister or solicitor for at least seven years or otherwise, as specified in section 200 of the Employment Relations Act 2000.

The advertisement says the position will suit someone with a particular interest in, and knowledge of, New Zealand's employment law.

The ministry has provided information on the appointment process and criteria for appointment, along with the Expression of Interest form which needs to be completed.

It has asked for expressions of interest in the Employment Court Judge role to be submitted to the Judicial Appointments Unit by 5pm on Friday, 26 May 2017.
