Australian judge Marcia Neave will deliver the 20th Annual New Zealand Law Foundation Ethel Benjamin Commemorative Address in Dunedin on 14 July 2016.
Justice Neave is the current chair of the Victorian Royal Commission into Family Violence. She was appointed to the Supreme Court of Victoria, Court of Appeals Division in February 2006.
Before her appointment she was foundation Chair of the Victorian Law Reform Commission and Professor of Law at Melbourne's Monash University.
The Ethel Benjamin Address will be delivered at 1pm on 14 July at the Dunedin Public Art Gallery. It commemorates Ethel Benjamin (1875-1943) who became New Zealand's first woman lawyer when she was admitted in 1897.
