The new Land Transfer Regulations 2018 to support the Land Transfer Act 2017 are now available, with the Act coming into force on 12 November 2018.
Registrar-General of Land Robbie Muir says the new regulations and related standards were developed and finalised through a consultation process led by LINZ that began in March 2018. The final regulations and standards were informed by the feedback gathered from stakeholders and customers through this process.
“We appreciate the effort people put into providing their detailed feedback into this consultation process. This has ensured the new regulations are well aligned to modern conveyancing. Most importantly we now have a modern legislative framework that positions us well to maintain our world-leading property system into the future,” he says.
LINZ has brought together key regulatory documents. These include the new regulations, along with the standards and guidelines set by the Registrar-General for property transactions within New Zealand.
