Law Society Library introduces new sign-in for subscription databases

The Law Society Library is introducing a more secure sign-in process for the subscription databases available through its Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch libraries, and at kiosks in lawyers’ rooms across Aotearoa New Zealand.

The change applies to Westlaw, Lexis+ and CCH iKnowConnect. When accessing these databases, lawyers will be asked to sign in using their Registry ID and password, and to accept the relevant terms and conditions.

The new process will help strengthen security. It will also allow users to save their search preferences and settings within the databases, making the service more efficient and tailored to how they work.

Please remember to log out of the database when you finish your session, whether using the kiosk or your own device. An automatic logout will occur after a period of inactivity.

The rollout will begin with Thomson Reuters Westlaw from 7 September with Lexis+ and CCH iKnowConnect to follow. If you do not have a Registry ID or have any questions about the new sign-in process, please contact Library staff or email library@lawsociety.org.nz.
