Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) says it will be releasing a new Land Transfer Tax Statement which can be used from Monday 12 December 2016.

Changes will be made to Landonline on the weekend of 10 December and LINZ says it will encourage lawyers and conveyancers to use the new statement from 12 December.

However, Landonline users will still be able to enter data collected on the existing form until April 2017.

LINZ says the statement will divide up questions about seller or buyer identity, and citizenship or visa status so they are clearer. The statement will also have guidance about parts that some clients can skip.

LINZ has released a copy of the new statement and a short explanatory video, but says it cannot be used until 12 December when the changes have been made to Landonline.
