Can a landlord justify collecting nationality or ethnicity information from a prospective tenant? Almost never says the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

To coincide with Privacy Week, the Office has produced a new set of guidelines outlining what information should and should not be collected by landlords when deciding whether someone will make a suitable tenant.
