Progress on Waitangi Tribunal recommendations reported

A report on progress on implementation of recommendations made to the Crown by the Waitangi Tribunal in the year to 30 June 2018 has been tabled in parliament by Māori Development Minister Nanaia Mahuta.

The report, which is required by section 8I of the Treaty of Waitangi Act 1975, introduces a new section at the end, which lists all reports issued by the Waitangi Tribunal and shows the Crown's position on the status of each report.

This shows of the 130 reports issued by the Tribunal up to 30 June 2018, the recommendations in 21 - 16% - had all been settled, while the settlement status of 35 - 27% - was "unknown".
