Ana Coculescu has joined Barristers.Comm chambers as a specialist in environmental and resource management law, bringing 18 years of experience advising private and public sector clients across New Zealand and Australia.

Ana's practice centres on helping organisations navigate complex regulatory landscapes - from securing resource consents and project approvals to ensuring ongoing compliance with consenting conditions. Her work spans a broad range of environmental matters, including waste management, hazardous substances, contaminated land, and compulsory acquisition.
Ana has a particular focus on ESG and environmental compliance, with recent work covering obligations under the Resource Management Act and the Emissions Trading Scheme. She also served as founding editor of the Dentons New Zealand ESG Newsletter from 2023 until joining chambers.
Prior to coming to the independent bar, Ana was a Senior Associate in the Environment and Planning team at Dentons Wellington. She has also held roles at international, national and boutique firms in Wellington and Sydney.
