Former New Zealand lawyer Elizabeth Longworth has been appointed to the Financial Markets Authority for a three-year term.

She replaces outgoing board member Shelley Cave, who has been a member of the FMA since 2011.

Ms Longworth's experience includes being Inhouse Counsel at the Reserve Bank from 1987-88. Since 2003 she has held a number of senior leadership positions in the United Nations.
