Luke Cunningham Clere has announced the promotion of four professional staff.
Andrew Britton, Special Counsel – Kaiwawao Tiketike
Andrew is experienced in advising and representing the Crown and public sector clients in the areas of public law, human rights, environmental law, professional discipline, regulatory enforcement, and criminal prosecution. He has expertise in environmental compliance, monitoring and enforcement, and supervises a team of lawyers providing advice and representation to Government and local authority clients in these areas. He has also advised and represented Ministers and Government officials on broad aspects of Crown legal risk, including policy implementation through legislation and litigation strategy.
Tim Bain, Principal – Kaihautū
Tim is an experienced litigator and public lawyer with a broad practice. He routinely conducts Judge-alone and jury trials, and acts for public bodies defending appeals in the District and High Courts. As well as litigation, he advises a range of public-sector clients on their processes and draft decisions.
Harriet Farquhar, Senior Associate – Kaiwawao Mātāmua
Harriet has particular experience in public law litigation and advice. She regularly advises public bodies on their powers and obligations, and has acted in a number of judicial review proceedings. In addition, she has experience in coronial inquests, regulatory matters and professional discipline
Richard Belcher, Senior Associate – Kaiwawao Mātāmua
Richard is a specialist litigator with a focus on criminal and regulatory prosecutions, public law and civil litigation. He has particular experience in health and safety and professional disciplinary prosecutions and has also acted in, and advised on, judicial review proceedings and civil disputes involving public institutions.
