New Chair of the Canterbury Earthquakes Insurance Tribunal

Mr Christopher Boys has recently been appointed as the new Chair of the Canterbury Earthquakes Insurance Tribunal taking on the role following the retirement of the inaugural Chair of the Tribunal, former District Court Judge Christopher Somerville.

Mr Boys has been a member of the Canterbury Earthquakes Insurance Tribunal since April 2020 and the principal of Assure Legal in Wellington for the last seven years. He has previously worked as a commercial claims handler for several large New Zealand insurers, and in London as a Lloyd's broker. He has also worked for the Insurance and Savings Ombudsman, and as a barrister and solicitor for a niche civil litigation firm, handling personal injury, employment and insurance cases.
