Dunedin Barrister Alison Douglass has been appointed as Acting Chair of the Health Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal from 19 June 2020 to 19 December 2020. Alison has been a Deputy Chair of the Tribunal since October 2018.
David Carden, barrister of Auckland retires on 18 June 2020. David has provided excellent service on the Tribunal after serving two and a half years as Deputy Chair and ten years as Chair of the Tribunal.
Maria Dew QC, barrister of Auckland, will continue in her role as a Deputy Chair of the Tribunal.
The Health Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal is an independent Tribunal established in 2004 to hear and determine disciplinary proceedings brought against registered health practitioners from 23 health professions under Part 4 of the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003.
