The Resource Management Act review panel has released an issues and options paper and is seeking public feedback to assist with its final report.
The paper, Transforming the resource management system: Opportunities for change, says it starts a conversation about issues to be considered and addressed in its comprehensive review of the Resource Management Act 1991 and other significant legislation comprising the resource management system.
The panel is chaired by retired Court of Appeal Judge Tony Randerson QC. It was established in July 2019 when the Government announced the comprehensive review. The panel is required to issue a final report on reform proposals by mid-2020.
The panel invites comments on the paper up to Monday, 3 February 2020.
