University wants you to share your 'Lawyer Story'

This article is over 3 years old. More recent information on this subject may exist.

People who have either tried to find the help of a lawyer or have used a lawyer to assist them in a legal matter are being encouraged to take part in a new university project.

The University of Otago Legal Issues Centre wants people to share their stories and experience via their new website, where they’ll also find out more about the study.

The recently launched website provides an opportunity for people to share share what they liked about the legal service they received or what they didn’t like. It also enables people to share their experiences in trying to find a lawyer, when needing legal advice.

The University says the stories will form part of the teaching material for an upcoming Summer School course on the legal profession and the future of legal practice.

The Legal Issues Centre and Faculty of Law say it’s important that law schools train future lawyers who understand client needs and offer legal services that clients want to use.
