The Wellington High Court building at 2 Molesworth Street will reopen on 1 February 2017.

The building received water damage in the November 2016 earthquake. A statement by the Chief High Court Judge, Justice Venning, says remedial work is close to completion and the building reopens on 1 February.

The New Zealand Law Society library will remain closed as further work is required.

Justice Venning says until 31 January 2017, the High Court Registry will continue to operate from the sixth floor of the Wellington District Court at 43-49 Ballance Street. Lawyers or members of the public wanting to file documents can do so there. All other contact details for the High Court, telephone and email remain the same.

The High Court Registry (and probate) will reopen at 9am on Wednesday 1 February at 2 Molesworth Street.
