Liam Johannesson is a construction, infrastructure and commercial contracting lawyer who advises on major commercial projects across the consumer goods, food and retail, infrastructure, construction and transport sectors. 

He supports domestic and multinational organisations across the public and private sectors and brings a broad perspective across project delivery and commercial transactions. In the last three years, Liam has advised on commercial construction projects in key sectors with a combined value exceeding NZD500 million. He also supports clients on key legal, market and sector developments, including the rollout of the revised New Zealand Standard (NZS) suite of construction contracts. 

Sundaresh Thangavelu advises domestic and international clients on commercial real estate acquisitions and disposals, large-scale leasing and development projects, and property due diligence for M&A transactions. His practice spans the consumer goods and retail, hospitality and leisure, local government and Māori economy sectors. 

Sundaresh's promotion follows his recognition earlier this year as a Rising Star by the New Zealand Law Society Property Law Section Ngā Rōia Ture Rawa. He has been part of teams advising on significant transactions, including the acquisition of the IHG-operated Hotel Indigo in Auckland’s CBD and Auckland Council’s sale of Auckland Film Studios.
