Meredith Connell announces 21 promotions

Meredith Connell (MC) announces a new generation of Partners, Senior Associates and Associates.

Partners

Jessica Easton (Ngāti Kurauia (Ngāti Tūwharetoa), Ngāti Pūkenga) joins MC as a Partner and will lead the firm’s new Tauranga Moana office. Jess is a local government specialist and advisor, with expertise in natural hazard risk and resilience. She is experienced in supporting in-house legal and executive teams to navigate response and recovery following major natural hazard and disaster events across Aotearoa New Zealand. 

Daniel McGivern is an experienced commercial litigator who advises government agencies, regulators, and corporate clients on complex disputes and investigations. Daniel recently returned from London, where he worked on global competition disputes.

Danielle Christoffersen brings expertise in property transactions, including those related to proceeds of crime and insolvency. An advisor on trusts and property matters, she has practised in both New Zealand and Australia and has been a long-standing leader and mentor to the next generation of lawyers at MC for many years. 

David Wiseman is an experienced regulatory and commercial litigator with expertise in financial services, civil forfeiture, and corporate regulation and enforcement. David advises on complex disputes and investigations and a wide range of regulatory matters. David recently returned to MC from Sydney, Australia. 

Elena Mok is a specialist in disciplinary prosecutions and regulatory proceedings, with experience spanning tribunal hearings through to appeals before all levels of the courts. An advisor to the country’s regulators and professional bodies, Elena advises across regulatory, civil litigation, and Crown prosecution matters. 

Sarah Murphy is a senior Crown prosecutor with extensive trial, regulatory enforcement, and appellate experience in the District Court, High Court, and Court of Appeal. Sarah regularly appears on behalf of the Crown, Commerce Commission, and government departments, and mentors and trains junior prosecutors. Sarah brings international experience to MC.
