Artificial intelligence is already in use in many law practices, but many law professionals are still unsure how to use it safely, ethically, and effectively.
While AI offers new opportunities for legal services, there are risks and ethical issues that need careful management.
Staying informed and up-to-date on AI developments and issues is key.
The Law Society is partnering with LexisNexis to get a clear picture of how lawyers are using AI in New Zealand in 2025 and to provide meaningful support for AI adoption by the profession.
This is taking the form of a research project, webinar and a series of workshops on AI and the legal profession.
LexisNexis will bring their global research insights and their experience as a leading law technology provider to the webinar.

This was the first survey of its kind to look solely at New Zealand practitioners.
The survey was anonymous. Respondents were representative of lawyers from across the profession in New Zealand.
Results from the survey will be released at a webinar on 26 June.
