EF LAW | Building the Young Lawyer
Dr Sarah Anticich (Clinical & Organisational Psychologist)
Synopsis
The biggest challenges in legal practice are rarely legal—they're human. Every day, lawyers work with people experiencing conflict, stress, uncertainty and significant life change, while being expected to think clearly, communicate effectively and exercise sound judgement under pressure.
This interactive workshop introduces EF|LAW™, an evidence-informed framework integrating psychology, neuroscience and executive functioning science to help lawyers understand how stress, cognitive load and human behaviour influence legal practice. Participants will leave with practical tools—including the C³ Loop™, Emotional Airlock™ and AVRC Model™—to navigate difficult conversations, manage professional pressures, strengthen client relationships and make better decisions when the stakes are high.
Whether working in litigation, commercial practice, property, criminal law, employment law or any other area, these capabilities support clearer thinking, better communication and more effective professional performance.

Synopsis
As technology becomes embedded in nearly every aspect of daily life, it increasingly appears in family law and domestic violence cases—sometimes as a tool of safety, and other times as a weapon of harm. Offenders are using phones, apps, smart devices, and digital platforms to monitor, manipulate, and exert coercive control over partners and co-parents.
In this interactive workshop, Steven Bradley, examines how modern technologies can both empower and endanger the families’ attorneys serve. Participants will learn how coercive control dynamics often intersect with digital behaviors such as surveillance, location tracking, social media manipulation, and device access. Using practical, non-technical language, this session provides attorneys, judges, and professionals with strategies for technology safety planning, evidence preservation, and risk assessment. Attendees will leave better equipped to identify technology-facilitated abuse, support client safety, and responsibly navigate digital evidence in family law cases.
